Acknowledged for its strategic importance and commitment to soldier preparedness, Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg, faced an unexpected challenge when mold infestations were discovered in the barracks housing 1,200 soldiers.
To urgently address this critical concern while upholding acceptable living conditions for soldiers, the base turned to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District’s Rapid Disaster Infrastructure (RDI) contract. This decision marked the beginning of an ambitious initiative led by the prime contractor Conti Federal, which aimed at fast-tracking the incidental design-build renovation of three barracks within a year.
